Industrial aviation is repetitive, weather-dependent and unforgiving of shortcuts. Placing a load on a structure the pilot cannot directly see, on a line, in wind, is precise flying — and it is planned against the weight, the line length, the density altitude and the escape route before anyone lifts. It is also where the honest answer is sometimes that today’s conditions are wrong and the lift happens tomorrow.

We have lifted cable drums onto transmission tower footings on hillsides where the access road ended well short of the structure, working to a ground marshal because the load was not visible from the cockpit at the moment of placement.
