Freight charter is less about the aircraft than about everything around it: whether the item will physically pass through the cargo door, how it will be secured, which ramp equipment exists at both ends, and which permits will quietly delay the whole thing if nobody files them early. We agree the loading method against the item and the airfield before anyone quotes a price, because a quote that ignores the door dimensions is not a quote.
Most African freight charters lose their schedule at a border rather than in the air. Overflight and landing permits, customs documentation and handling are managed as part of the mission.
We have loaded a King Air cabin floor-to-ceiling with taped cartons because that aircraft could reach the strip and a freighter could not, and watched a multi-tonne reel go up a main-deck loader on rollers. Both were the right answer to different problems.
